Qilong Shen received his B. S. degree in Environmental Chemistry from Nanjing University in 1996, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, an M. S. in Organic Chemistry with Prof. Gerald B. Hammond at University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 2002, and a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. John F. Hartwig at Yale University in 2007. After postdoctoral studies with Prof. Jeffrey S. Moore at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he returned Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences to begin his independent career in 2010, and currently he is a full professor in the Key Laboratory of Organofluorine Chemistry. His research interests focuses on asymmetric catalysis and organometallic-fluorine chemistry.
